The Academy of Machine Cinema & Arts, is composed of 16 individuals who have excelled and or have years of experience in machinima. Membership in the AMCA is by invitation only. The Academy watches every machinima that is made with a capture card, has a duration of at least 7 minutes long, and are made between 1/1 and 12/31 of the previous year (currently that would be 2015). The qualified machinimas are then evaluated by Academy Members. Then for a 1 week period (due to the large amount of nominations and categories), the members come together and vote on which machinima has met the certain achievements for winning the award for the appropriate category in the Academy Machinima Awards (AMA's). Each winner is by choice, either awarded with a physical certificate mailed to their address, or a digital certificate and logo of achievement recognition to put wherever they please. Each Individual is allowed 1 nomination per category. Due to extreme similarity, any director's cuts or remastered versions of any pre-existing machinima will only be eligible if the original pre-exisitng machinima was made in the eligible time-frame to be nominated for that year's awards. Each category has a limit of 15 nominations. Until the finalized award nominations video is released, nominees are added and removed from the list almost every other day. The Categories followed by, (Viewer Voted Category), means that category (not recognized by the AMCA as a Legitimate Category) is mainly for comedic reasons and is decided by anybody who fills out the polls on the homepage. The 1st Annual 2014 AMA's went under a different name (GSA's) and were not managed at all like they are now, so please, excuse the flaws. But the 2nd Annual 2016 AMA's will truly be amazing and innovative.
To avoid bias, the members of The Academy of Machine Cinema & Arts will not be able to vote in categories they are nominated for. The Executive Members will check for bias post-voting.
